News That Ola Aina Has Been Handed Spot In England U20 Team Fabricated, Not Eligible
Published: April 13, 2017A report that Chelsea defender Ola Aina is set to snub a potential call-up to the Nigerian national team and represent England at next month's Fifa U20 World Cup in South Korea is fabricated.
Allnigeriasoccer.com, who broke the news that Aina was flirting with the Super Eagles, can report that he has no chance whatsoever to play for the Young Lions.
The right wing-back was born on October 8, 1996 and is ineligible for the competition by approximately three months as the age cut-off is players born on or after January 1, 1997.
England U20s coach Paul Simpson is monitoring 48 players ahead of the trip to South Korea, and the list should include Josh Onomah (Tottenham), Fikayo Tomori, Dominic Solanke (both Chelsea) and Ademola Lookman (Everton).
Aina, a former England U19 captain, trained with the Super Eagles last month in London and caught the eye of coach Gernot Rohr.
