United States youth international of Nigerian descent Matthew Olosunde made a courtesy call on the 47th Mayor of Trenton, Eric Jackson, on Thursday, before his trip to the United Kingdom for the start of pre-season training.

The Manchester United right wing-back met with the Mayor and Trenton residents as part of his initiative to help promote soccer in the capital city of New Jersey.

After the visit, Olosunde posted on Instagram : ''Was an honor and pleasure to meet the mayor of Trenton, Eric Jackson, yesterday. #politicalbiscuits''.

Olosunde, who returned to Manchester on Friday, will be hoping to be in Manchester United's traveling party for their pre-season tour of the United States later this month.

The Red Devils have confirmed friendlies against LA Galaxy, Real Salt Lake, Manchester City and Real Madrid in America.
