Super Eagles Defender Omeruo Stars As Chelsea XI Beat Bergerac Perigord 2-0
Published: July 29, 2017Kenneth Omeruo helped Chelsea record a 2-0 win over French fourth-tier club Bergerac Périgord FC in a pre-season friendly held at the Gaston Simounet Stadium on Saturday evening.
The Nigeria international, who made the starting XI, paired with highly-rated teenager Ethan Ampadu in central defense, and helped goalkeeper Matej Delač to post a clean-sheet.
The first half was balanced and both teams went into the break level.
Scotland U19 international Harvey St Clair opened the scoring for Chelsea in the 65th minute after a defensive mix-up, before Benny Ashley-Seal sealed the win with a second goal.
Omeruo is training with Chelsea Loanees and Reserve Team ahead of his departure from Stamford Bridge this summer.
