Ex-Chelsea Nigerian Striker Has Played His Way Into Liverpool First Team, Says Klopp
Published: August 06, 2017Former Chelsea wonderkid Dominic Solanke has grabbed his opportunity with both hands to be included in Liverpool's first-team squad in the forthcoming season, according to Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp.
Solanke ended his thirteen-year association with the Premier League champions this summer because he was not considered for their first team.
''Dom Solanke…I think he’s already shown that he’s ready for some adult football,'' Klopp told Liverpool's official webpage.
''Ryan Kent, I’ve known him for one-and-a-half years and last year he developed unbelievably well and this pre-season is completely different to last pre-season, he’s completely showed up now.
''So, without paying too much money or the highest transfer fees we have additions in the squad. That’s good.''
The Golden Ball winner of the 2017 Fifa U20 World Cup netted his third goal in pre-season as Liverpool beat Athletic Club 3-1 in Dublin on Saturday.
