Okocha Confirms Iwobi Will Be Available For WCQ Vs Zambia
Published: October 02, 2017Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi has ended speculation over his availability for the forthcoming international between Nigeria and Zambia at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
But according to Iwobi's uncle, Algeria 1990 Nations Cup star Emmanuel Okocha, the Hale End Academy product won't be able to beat the deadline for the invited players to show up in Uyo, which is Monday, October 2.
Only yesterday, the Arsenal number seventeen figured for the London team in their 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League.
Asked about Iwobi's availability for the match day five fixture versus the Copper Bullets, Emmanuel Okocha confirmed : ''Alex will join the team tomorrow (Tuesday) morning''.
There had been fears that Iwobi would miss the World Cup qualifier after picking up an injury just before the Gunners faced West Brom, but he was able to shrug off his injury and was named in the starting line-up against the Seagulls.
The 21-year-old opened his Super Eagles account against Zambia about a year ago.
