Liverpool Wonderkid, Manchester United Star Win Premier League Awards
Published: October 13, 2017Liverpool striker Harry Wilson has been named the Premier League 2 Player of the Month for September.
To clinch the accolade, the Wales international saw off competition from Hamza Choudhury (Leicester), Brahim Diaz (Man City), Callum Hudson-Odoi (Chelsea), Oli McBurnie (Swansea City), Joseph Nuttall (Blackburn Rovers), Luke Thomas (Derby County) and Donovan Wilson (Wolves).
In the period under review, Wilson scored five goals in three appearances for Liverpool's U23 side, including a hat-trick against Tottenham Hotspur.
Manchester United wing-back Antonio Valencia claimed September's Carling Goal of the Month for his strike against Everton at Old Trafford.
The Ecuador international had been nominated for the award along with Alvaro Morata, Leroy Sane, Andrew Surman, Philippe Coutinho, Harry Kane , Kevin De Bruyne and Fabian Delph.
