How Nigeria Voted : Mikel & Rohr Chose Messi To Win Best FIFA Men's Player Award
Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has retained The Best FIFA Men's Player Award ahead of fierce rival Lionel Messi and PSG's Neymar in the second edition of the prestigious Award held in London on Monday.

In the voting by national team coaches, captains and media, Ronaldo earned 43.16 percent, Messi finished second with 19.25 percent and third-placed Neymar received 6.97 percent.

Though no Nigerian journalist participated in the vote, Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr and captain Obi Mikel voted for Lionel Messi to win the award.

Ronaldo and Buffon Gianluigi was Mikel's second and third choice respectively, while Rohr opted for Griezmann Antoine and Neuer Manuel in that order.

Nigeria Football Federation supremo Amaju Pinnick and Second Vice-President Shehu Dikko attended the award ceremony held at London Palladium and took photographs with Messi.

Real Madrid coach Zinedine won FIFA's best coach award, Lieke Martens the Women's Best Player award, Arsenal star Olivier Giroud's scorpion-kick won the Puskas Award and Juventus star Gianluigi Buffo was named best goalkeeper.
