Coach That Handed Debut To Goalkeeper Francis Uzoho Sacked By Deportivo
Deportivo La Coruña have parted company with Spanish coach Pepe Mel after an indifferent start to the season, writes the official website of The Blues and Whites.

The straw that broke the camel's back was Monday night's 2-1 home loss to Olarenwaju Kayode's Girona, in which the Nigerian striker earned a penalty for his side and provided an assist.

Mel handed former Golden Eaglets goalkeeper Francis Uzoho his La Liga debut against Eibar on October 15 before retaining him in the line-up against Girona.

Until the end of the season the team from La Coruña will be trained by Cristobal Parralo, who previously worked with Uzoho in the reserve team of Deportivo.

Pepe Mel was appointed Deportivo manager in February 2017, and under his leadership the team managed to escape relegation last season after finishing 16th on the table.

This season, Deportivo La Coruña have won only two matches after nine rounds in La Liga.
