Sunderland 0 Manchester United 1 PL2 : Kehinde Sparkles, Asoro Logs 90 Minutes
Published: October 29, 2017Tosin Kehinde made his fifth consecutive start in the Premier League 2 as Manchester United claimed a 1-0 win against Sunderland at Eppleton Colliery Football Ground on Sunday afternoon.
Sweden U21 international of Nigerian descent Joel Asoro was the most eye-catching name in Sunderland's starting line-up, while former Super Eagles invitee Josh Maja is still struggling to overcome his fitness problems and wasn't involved.
It was goalless at the break, with the two teams creating meaningless chances.
Manchester United broke the deadlock three minutes into the second half when Demetri Mitchell converted a spot kick after a rash challenge inside the area by Owen Gamble.
Despite Sunderland doing everything to get an equalizer, United's advantage remained one goal.
Up next, Tosin Kehinde and his teammates host Swansea City on November 4, while Sunderland face Exeter City U23 in the Premier League Cup on Thursday.
