Ndidi Puts In Another Impressive Shift As Leicester Win Battle Of The Blues

Leicester strolled to a 2-0 victory against shambolic Everton to kick-start a wonderful beginning to his new regime for Claude Puel in the English Premier League on Sunday evening.

Everton's precarious campaign took another hit as they went down to the Foxes at the King Power Stadium, with goals from Jamie Vardy and Demarai Gray consigned them to their sixth defeat of the season.

Leicester drew first blood in the game, England striker, Jamie Vardy getting onto the end of a swift Demarai Gray's counter attack after Riyad Mahrez had unselfishly played him through on goal to put the home side in front 18 minutes into the game.

Gray soon joined in on the goalscoring act, his cross into the box to find fellow striker Vardy inadvertently taking a huge deflection off Jonjoe Kenny to leave Jordan Pickford in the Everton goal sprawling furtively.

Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi was instrumental in the triumph, putting in a gritty showing in the middle of the pack to keep the poor attacking verve of the Toffees at bay while starring for the full duration of the game.

While his compatriot, Kelechi Iheanacho could only come off the bench in the 90th minute when the game trend was almost settled, Ahmed Musa was conspicuously missing from the matchday squad yet again but that did little to influence the eventual result.

For Everton, Anglo-Nigerian attacker, Ademola Lookman could not come off the substitute bench as he watched on for the entirety of the game.

With this win, Leicester moved into 11th on the league log with 12 points after their third win of the season while Everton are embroiled in relegation waters, sitting in 18th having mustered just eight points after ten games.
