Super Eagles Invitee Uzoho Gives Away A Penalty In Pontevedra-Deportivo Draw
Published: November 01, 2017For the first time this season in Group I of the Segunda División B, new Super Eagles invitee Francis Uzoho conceded two goals as the B team of Deportivo de La Coruña played out a 2-2 draw against Pontevedra on Wednesday evening.
In the opening minutes of the contest held at Estadio Municipal de Pasarón, Pontevedra strikers were kept at bay by superb goalkeeping from the former Golden Eaglets star.
Davide Añon got the Galician side up and running on the 28th minute mark, stepping up to beat the 19-year old Nigerian in the Depor goal from the spot following a penalty call against the visitors.
The referee had pointed to the penalty spot, having adjudged that Francis had fouled Anon.
Four minutes later, Fabril pulled Deportivo level with a deft finish to put the game in the balance.
But Añon struck again two minutes to the break to put the Lupe Murillo's men back in the lead.
That effort seemed enough to give Pontevedra maximum points but as it stood till deep into injury time following a dogged resilience from the hosts but for Oscar Pinchi who capitalized on a late lapse in concentration to scramble home a late equaliser and hand his side a share of the spoils.
Uzoho would definitely have expected a better outing, and conceding two goals would certainly not have gone down well with the youngster.
RC Deportivo Fabril are second in the standings with 27 points from 12 matches.
