Aina, Iwobi, Mikel Start In A 3-5-2 Formation As Nigeria Announce Starting Line-Up Vs Argentina
Published: November 14, 2017Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has announced his starting line-up for Tuesday evening's international friendly against Argentina at Krasnodar Stadium, starting from 1730 hours.
The German tactician has decided to deploy a 3-5-2 formation against the offensive two-time world champions.
Rohr tested this line-up in the Super Eagles last workout on Monday evening, and he's sticking with the same players and that means Chippa United goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi is the preferred choice in goal for this one, ahead of Francis Uzoho and Ikechukwu Ezenwa.
The three-man defense contains Leon Balogun, William Troost-Ekong and Chidozie Awaziem
Chelsea product Ola Aina and Cypriot-based Abdullahi Shehu will perform defensive duties further up the pitch, with both players occupying the left and right wing-back roles.
The three central midfielders are captain John Obi Mikel, Wilfred Ndidi and John Ogu.
Arsenal wonderkid Alex Iwobi and Leicester City starlet Kelechi Iheanacho start in attack for the Super Eagles.
