Victor Moses Named Nigeria Footballer Of The Year, Ex-Arsenal Star FOTY Women
Published: November 18, 2017At the Nigerian Sports Awards staged at at the prestigious Eko Hotels and Suites on Friday, November 17, Chelsea dazzler Victor Moses has been named the Nigeria Footballer of the Year.
The Super Eagles star saw off competition from Anthony Okpotu and Stephen Odey to clinch the accolade.
Moses has gone from strength to strength over the course of 2017, helping Chelsea win the Premier League title and qualify for the final of the Emirates FA Cup.
The 26-year-old was undoubtedly Nigeria's standout player during the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, scoring three goals while providing an assist in a crucial match against Cameroon in Uyo.
The Blues number fifteen is the first Nigerian player to win the Nigeria Footballer of the Year twice since the award was instituted in 2012.
In the female category, former Arsenal striker Asisat Oshoala was handed the Footballer of the year (Women), which she first won in 2014.
Onome Ebi and Rasheedat Ajibade had been nominated for the Footballer of the Year (Women) along with Oshoala.
