Chelsea Set New Record Without Kicking A Ball Against Qarabag
Published: November 22, 2017Premier League champions Chelsea set a new record after arriving in Baku for their Champions League clash against Azerbaijani champions Qarabağ FK.
The official website of the Blues has reported that the trip to Baku is the longest distance the club has traveled in official matches in Europe.
Two thousand five hundred miles (approximately 4,000 km) separate London and Baku, and the flight time is five-and-a-half hours.
The previous record was set back in the 2015-2016 season when Chelsea traveled 2,200 miles to face Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Champions League.
Baku Olympic Stadium, which has a capacity of 69,870, is the venue of today's game between Qarabag and Chelsea, starting from 1800 hours Nigerian time.
Antonio Conte's side can qualify for the last sixteen with a game to spare if they beat their Azerbaijani opponents.
