Lookman Puts On A Show In Everton's Big Win, Praised By Manager
Published: December 07, 2017Ademola Lookman has been praised by Everton first-team coach Craig Shakespeare on the back of his display for the Premier League club in their 3-0 rout of Apollon Limassol in the Europa League on Thursday.
The England U21 star of Nigerian descent netted his first goals of the season for the Toffees in their comfortable win at Neo GSP (NicosÃa), first opening the scoring in the 21st minute before doubling their advantage seven minutes later.
''He (Ademola) can be an important player but he is only young. He showed his ability tonight,'' Shakespeare told evertonfc.com.
''To come away from home, whether it be in Europe or the league, or wherever... to keep a clean sheet and score three, the players have to take enormous credit from that.''
Lookman starred for the Young Lions at this summer's Fifa U20 World Cup, scoring 3 goals in 6 matches, and has featured for Everton in each of their last five matches in the Premier League.
Prior to today's contest against the Cypriot opponents, his last goal for the first-team was on his debut against Manchester City on January 15.
