Arsenal Winger Alex Iwobi Declared Fit To Face Liverpool
Published: December 22, 2017Alex Iwobi is fit to face Liverpool in the English Premier League on Friday evening, amid speculation surrounding his fitness after he hobbled off with a knock against Newcastle United last weekend.
The Hale End Academy product's absence from training and the match day squad against West Ham United in the League Cup had sparked fears that he was not in tip-top condition.
Training pictures sighted by allnigeriasoccer.com confirmed that Iwobi took part in the Gunners last workout at London Colney in St Albans on Thursday, and he was spotted wearing a white bib.
The Super Eagles star has been utilized by manager Arsene Wenger in key games against Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur this term, and was not available for selection against Liverpool in August on account of a thigh muscle strain.
Last season, Iwobi started Arsenal's losses to Liverpool home and away and it would be his third appearance against the Anfield side if he gets some minutes tonight.
Arsenal will be guaranteed fourth place after the 19th round of matches if they beat Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.
