Chelsea Ready To Make Belgium Star The Highest Paid GK To Ward Off Real Madrid, Juventus
Published: December 22, 2017Chelsea are hoping to tie down Thibaut Courtois to a new deal by offering him astronomical wages to remain at Stamford Bridge, according to reports.
The Telegraph UK has reported that Chelsea have expressed their readiness to increase the salary of Courtois from the current £ 100,000 to more than £ 200,000 (about € 225,000) per week, including bonuses.
Earlier, there was information that Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus were interested in the services of the Belgium international netminder, who represented Atletico Madrid from 2011 to 2014 on loan from Chelsea.
If Thibaut Courtois can agree fresh terms with Chelsea, he will become the highest paid goalkeeper in the world.
It is envisaged that the 25-year-old will pen a new deal after the New Year, tying him to Chelsea until June 30, 2023.
His current agreement with The Blues is valid until the end of the 2018-2019 season.
