Wenger Explains Why PSG-Linked Winger Sanchez Was Spotted In Paris
Published: December 28, 2017The future of Arsenal's superstar Alexis Sanchez will continue to dominate the headlines, with only fours days to the opening of the January transfer window.
The number seven, who was spotted in the French capital earlier this week, bagged a second-half brace to inspire the Gunners to a 3-2 win over Crystal Palace in a London derby on Thursday night.
And speaking to reporters after the game at Selhurst Park, Wenger was queried why the Paris Saint-Germain-linked player was sighted in France.
''That’s true. We had two days off on the 24th and the 25th. That was public, but he did not go to Chile. He met his family somewhere, but not Chile,'' Wenger told the national press in England, including football.london.
Reacting to the performance of Sanchez, Wenger said : ''I felt he was very good tonight. ... This kind of Sanchez is a fantastic football player.''
Sanchez will walk away from the Emirates Stadium as a free agent at the end of the 2017-2018 season if he refuses to sign a new deal, Manchester City are also monitoring his situation with a view to a swoop next month.
