These Three Key Players Certain To Miss Chelsea's Clash Vs Newcastle United
Published: January 26, 2018Chelsea coach Antonio Conte will not be able to count on three key players when his side face off with Newcastle United in the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup this Sunday.
Alarm bells were set off when Brazilian winger Willian was substituted on the half-hour mark against Arsenal in the League Cup and the Italian has confirmed he'll sit out the upcoming game at Stamford Bridge.
Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and striker Alvaro Morata will watch the game from the stands after failing to overcome injuries.
''Willian is out. Today with the doctor took the decision to have a scan on his injury. But I don’t think we are talking about a serious injury,'' Conte told reporters at Friday's press conference.
The Italian gaffer added : ''Morata and Courtois are out. I don’t know (how long).
''It is very difficult to tell today how many days they need to come back. Morata has a problem in his back and Courtois took a kick in his leg. ''
Meanwhile, Chelsea loanee Kenedy can't face his parent club because he is cup-tied having featured in the third round vs Norwich City.
