Watford Loanee Isaac Success Says He's Not New To Battling Relegation
Published: February 08, 2018Watford loanee Isaac Success was unveiled by Malaga at La Rosaleda on Thursday, three days after he made his debut for the Andalusian club against Las Palmas.
After 22 games, there are seven points between Malaga, who are bottom of the table, and 17th-place Levante, but the Nigeria international has declared that he's not new to La Liga relegation battle and remains hopeful that Malaga will escape relegation at the end of the season.
Success spent two full seasons with Granada's first team and they managed to beat the drop on each occasion despite flirting with relegation for the majority of the season.
''I’m here to make the most of this opportunity. The most important thing is to help the team, and if I do well it’s also good for the team,'' said Isaac Success to Malaga's official website.
''Everyone wants to remain in the First Division, and if we achieve salvation, it’ll be good for me and all the players.''
The Malaga number seventeen added : ''I experienced a similar situation in Granada. The first thing is to trust, to grow every day as a team, because there’s no rival that we cannot defeat.
''We need to grow and become stronger, which we’ll achieve with victories. It would help us to believe in what we can achieve.''
Success, who is the youngest Nigerian player to debut in the Spanish top-flight, made his 50th appearance in the division when he came off the bench in the 78th minute against Las Palmas.
