Manchester City 5 vs Leicester 1: Ndidi, Iheanacho Feature, Argentina Striker Puts On Show
Published: February 10, 2018Manchester City picked apart Leicester City 5-1 in their Premier League clash on Saturday evening, with Sergio Aguero helping himself to four of the goals.
Wilfred Ndidi made his 26th league appearance at the Etihad Stadium, playing from the off for the visitors while Kelechi Iheanacho was named among the substitutes.
Young Nigerian striker, Lukas Mmecha was in line for his Premier League debut after been included in the 18 for Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola's side showed precisely why they had been leading the pack for quite long this campaign with a blinding start, Kevin De Bruyne whipping in a delightful cross for Raheem Sterling to attack and knock home after just three minutes.
Jamie Vardy would then restore parity for the Foxes who showed some resilience after that setback, skipping past both Oleksander Zinchenko and Ilkay Gundogan before burying in despite Aymeric Laporte's best efforts.
Sterling and De Bruyne combined to get Manchester City back in front just after the break, the Belgium picking out Argentine striker, Sergio Aguero with his second assist.
More sloppy play from Leicester City allowed De Bruyne to latch onto the ball and knock it over to Aguero in the 53rd minute and he had no problem with beating Kasper Schmeichel for 3-1.
Schmeichel's faux pas allowed Aguero to dink over for his hat trick before rounding off the scoring in stoppage time with a thunderous strike, unleashing an absolute stunner of a shot which flew in off underneath the crossbar.
While Ndidi who picked up a booking in the encounter went the full duration of the game for the visitors, Iheanacho came on after 62 minutes.
Manchester City starlet Lukas Nmecha would have to wait a bit longer for his Premier League debut though.
