Official: Ex-Chelsea & Arsenal Defender Bids Farewell To Liverpool
Liverpool Ladies have confirmed that Casey Stoney has called time on her playing career and will officially depart the club after Wednesday's match against Sunderland AFC Ladies.

Stoney, who had stops at Arsenal and Chelsea before joining Liverpool in 2016, will take up the role of assistant manager with the England women's national team.

''Although I am sad to be hanging up my boots, I do so proud of what I have achieved and with great optimism about what the future holds for the women's game,'' Casey Stoney told Liverpool's official website.

''With that in mind, I am hugely excited about starting my next chapter as part of Phil Neville's Lionesses backroom team.''

The 35-year-old appeared 130 times for the Lionesses and was named in the squad for three Women's World Cups, where she played eleven matches.

Stoney represented Great Britain at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
