Czech Republic Wonderkid Makes Debut For Manchester United
Published: February 24, 2018Czech Republic U18 international Matej Kovar will make his debut for Manchester United across all levels when the U18 team take on Everton in the U18 Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The 17-year-old has been named in the starting line-up for the game week seventeen tie that will be held at Trafford Training Centre (Carrington).
United had announced the acquisition of Kovar from FC Slovácko on undisclosed terms on the final day of the January transfer window, following a successful trial.
The teenager has been registered for the UEFA Youth League and handed the number 33 jersey, he was a non-playing substitute as the U19s lost 2-0 to Liverpool in the competition on Wednesday.
Matej Kovar has played two matches for Czech Republic U18s, against the Netherlands and Ireland.
One of the most famous players in the history of Czech Republic football, Karel Poborský, played for United in the past, taking part in 48 matches and scoring 6 goals.
