Brian 'Abuja' Idowu Given Clean Bill Of Health, Trains Fully With Amkar Perm
Published: March 29, 2018
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Nigeria international Brian Idowu has been given a clean bill of health to resume training at Russian Premier League club Amkar Perm ahead of their game against Lokomotiv Moscow this weekend.
The versatile defender trained for the first time with his teammates on Thursday morning, and didn't have any symptoms that he picked up an injury while on international duty.
The Saint Petersburg native wore the Super Eagles jersey for the first time in his career last November against Argentina before making his full debut in another pre-World Cup friendly vs Poland last week.
Nicknamed Abuja by his Amkar Perm teammates, Idowu is in line to make his 26th appearance of the season for club and country if he features against the capital team on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Amkar Perm have announced that their players will step out onto the RZD Arena turf in special shirts dedicated to the memory of the victims of the tragedy that occurred in Kemerovo, and there will be a minute's silence before the start of the game.
As a result of a fire in one of the shopping centers in Kemerovo 64 people died, while 16 are missing.
Nigeria internationals Fegor Ogude and Aaron Samuel are on the books of Amkar Perm until the end of the 2017-2018 season.
