Box-To-Box Midfielder Otasowie Wanted By Juventus, Everton Gets Promoted At Wolves
Published: April 10, 2018Promising box-to-box midfielder Owen Otasowie, 16, has earned a promotion at EFL Championship outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers.
For the remainder of this season, the highly-rated teenager will turn out for Wolves reserve term, a testament to the progress he has made since joining the Premier League promotion candidates.
The Merry Hill native made his competitive debut for Wolves U23s in the Premier League 2 in their 3-0 loss to Blackburn Rovers on March 26 and was an unused substitute in their next game in the division four days later against West Brom.
On Monday, he came off the bench in the 65th minuteĀ as Wolverhampton Wanderers U23s were beaten 2-0 by Layton Ndukwu's Leicester City at Holmes Park in the quarterfinal of the Premier League Cup.
Prior to his promotion the U23s, he had eight squad appearances for Wolves in the U18 Premier League with a goal and assist to his name.
Owen Otasowie, who is eligible to represent Nigeria through his parents and England where he grew up, made his debut for United States U18s in a friendly against Costa Rica in February 2018.
Everton, former European champions Juventus and Ajax Amsterdam, plus Schalke 04 are monitoring the progress of the Mass Elite Academy product ahead of the summer transfer window.
