Leicester's Ndidi Is The Most Tackled Nigeria Star In EPL Ahead Of Iwobi, Moses
Published: April 10, 2018Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is the Premier League's top tackler but is getting a taste of his own medicine as regards to being tackled.
After 33 rounds in the topflight, the Foxes number 25 has been tackled 41 times and is the second most tackled player in the squad behind former African Footballer of the Year Riyad Mahrez with 51.
Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi is the second most tackled Nigeria international, which is not surprising as he is a tricky offensive player, having been tackled 25 times in 20 matches, an average of 1.25 tackles per game.
Chelsea right-back Victor Moses is third on the list and has been tackled 19 times in 23 matches, while Kelechi Iheanacho, who has played the least games, 15 in total, has been tackled eight times.
The most tackled player of Nigerian descent still eligible to represent the Super Eagles is Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham, with 48 tackles made on him, seven more than Ndidi.
Bournemouth's Jordon Ibe has been tackled 46 times, Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke 16, Huddersfield midfielder Philip Billing 5 and Everton's Ademola Lookman 4.
