Super Eagles Stars Rated: Iwobi Average But Moses Below Par On Last Day of Season
Published: May 14, 2018Arsenal defeated Huddersfield 1-0 away at the John Smith's Stadium on Sunday in manager Arsene Wenger's last game in charge of the Gunners.
Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi was in action in the game and allnigeriasoccer.com monitored the ratings of the Nigerian international by some English media.
Writing on Iwobi's performance, Mirror UK stated:
"Iwobi 5 - Little glimpses of skill but does not do enough in a midfield three. Subbed."
Allarsenal.com rated the Super Eagles star a little above average with a 5.5 rating out of 10.
"He's played better. The Nigerian saw a fair deal of possession but was a little wasteful with it," the blog wrote.
"A few misplaced passes but overall a good performance from the winger," was how Arsenal dedicated blog, readarsenal.com, described the performance of the Nigerian international with a scorecard that read 7.
"Held onto the ball well enough but not entirely convincing. Some of his passes were mishit," was the submission of the4thofficial.net who rated the Nigerian 6/10.
Iwobi was in action for 72 minutes on Sunday.
As for Victor Moses, Football.London has the following as their assessment of the wing-back's performance in the 3-0 defeat in the hands of Newcastle, a game which meant Chelsea finished fifth in the table on 70 points and lost out in the Champions League places.
"(Victor Moses ) Fell over so many times in the first half. Provided nothing going forward and with the goal got caught napping defensively.
"The second half was no better at all, some poor crosses and was really all over the place when trying to help his team at the back. 2"
As for westlondonsport.com, they had a slightly better rating for the influential Nigerian star.
"Moses contributed more than most, and got forward plenty, but his defending for the opening goal was woefully bad as he showed a complete lack of awareness to the danger behind him." Moses was thus handed a 5/10 rating.
Meanwhile Chelsea and Arsenal are expected to face off in a pre season friendly on August 4 before the start of the 2018/2019 season that kicks off 11th August.
