Official: Moses, Omeruo Among Seven Nigerian Players Retained By Chelsea, One Released
Published: June 08, 2018Former Premier League champions Chelsea have announced their retained and released list following the conclusion of the 2017-2018 season.
The Blues have confirmed that Nigeria internationals Victor Moses, Ola Aina and Kenneth Omeruo will remain on the books of the club next season.
Other players of Nigerian descent retained are : England youth internationals Tammy Abraham, Fikayo Tomori, Ike Ugbo and Tariq Uwakwe.
Of the aforementioned players, only Moses played for the first team last season, with Omeruo, Aina, Ugbo, Abraham and Aina loaned out to Kasimpasa, Hull City, MK Dons, Swansea City and Hull City respectively.
The Nigeria winger enjoyed another successive season with Chelsea on a personal level, featuring in 38 games and having a hand in eight goals, and helped the club win the Emirates FA Cup.
Striker cum winger Tushaun-Tyreese Walters, meanwhile, departs Stamford Bridge having made 13 appearances for the U18 national champions in the league and scoring once against Leicester City in October 2017.
