Transfer Of World Cup Star To Arsenal Almost In The Bag
Published: July 05, 2018Uruguayan midfielder, Lucas Torreira is on the verge of completing a £26.4m switch from Sampdoria to Arsenal after the South American nation's involvement in the 2018 Russia World Cup.
Mirror UK is reporting that the player's father, Ricardo is confident his son will finalise the move after the World Cup, claiming the transfer is 'virtually done' and what remains is the arrival of Lucas for his medical.
"It is as good as a fact that Lucas will join Arsenal," Ricardo was quoted as saying by Fox Sports.
"There are many clubs who contacted us but we have given our word to Arsenal and are very satisfied with what they offered.
"The deal is virtually done and only the arrival of Lucas is remaining".
Torreira has featured in all four of Uruguay's World Cup games in the ongoing World Cup.
