ADO Den Haag Pass Up Opportunity To Sign Araba After Missing Penalty
Published: July 06, 2018ADO Den Haag have passed up an opportunity to sign Nigerian striker Hakeem Araba, the Dutch Eredivise side have informed on their official website.
The 27-year-old is on the lookout for a new employer after terminating his contract with Finnish club PS Kemi last month.
Araba started his trials with ADO Den Haag with a bang, notching a brace in their 7-0 rout of LVV Lugdunum in a pre-season friendly last weekend.
In his second trial match on Wednesday against HVV Laakkwartier, he failed to convince the coaching staff led by manager Alfons Groenendijk, and to cap it all he missed a penalty.
''ADO Den Haag had two players on trial for more than a week - Hakeem Araba and Mike Havekotte - and has now informed the two players of the preliminary plans,'' ADO Den Haag wrote on their official website.
''Araba receives no offer and is therefore placed in the waiting room, but with Havekotte the club talks about a possible cooperation.
''Striker Araba does not train anymore, while goalkeeper Havekotte remains present in the Cars Jeans Stadium.''
