Nigerian Winger On Target For Liverpool In Five-Goal Thriller
Published: July 10, 2018Liverpool continued their pre-season preparations with a 3-2 win over newly promoted League Two side Tranmere Rovers in a friendly at Prenton Park (Birkenhead, Merseyside) on Tuesday evening.
With Nigerian winger Sheyi Ojo impressing against Rovers, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has a decision to make before the close of the summer transfer window, whether or not he will be sent out on loan.
Ojo, who was named in the starting lineup along with Dominic Solanke, provided the assist for the first goal scored by Rafael Camacho before he doubled the advantage.
He cut inside on his left foot then fired past goalkeeper Davis in the 27th minute, Adam Lallana made it 3-0 six minutes later.
Klopp made eleven changes at half-time, taking off Ojo and Solanke, who had a decent game.
Ojo, who spent the whole of last season on loan at Fulham, will be hoping to impress the German again when Liverpool face Bury in their next pre-season game on Saturday, July 14.
