Everton Loanee Henry Scores His First Goal For Galatasaray Against Valencia
Published: July 22, 2018Henry Onyekuru netted his maiden goal in the colours of Galatasaray in their 2-1 loss to Spanish club Valencia in a pre-season friendly on Saturday, July 21.
Prior to yesterday's fixture at the St. Leonard Stadion (Freiburg), the Nigeria international last found the net in Anderlecht's 3-1 loss to RSC Charleroi on December 10, 2017.
Onyekuru was introduced in the 61st minute as replacement for Selçuk Inan and eight minutes after entering the pitch, the unmarked striker scored confidently from close range after an inviting pass from Sinan Gumuş.
The 21-year-old made his debut for the Super Lig powerhouse in their 3-1 loss to PSV last Wednesday.
Reacting to his first goal for Galatasaray, the Everton loanee tweeted : ''Preseason continues... it was great to score my first goal for the club seems like so long ago .. I can get used to this feeling again 😉 #Hardwork #Dedication #gala #valencia''.
In their next pre-season fixture, Henry and his teammates face Sakaryaspor on July 25.
