Kelechi Iheanacho Reveals The One Thing Super Eagles Gained From The World Cup
Published: July 28, 2018It's now one month and two days the Super Eagles were eliminated from the 2018 World Cup after suffering a painful 2-1 loss to South Americans Argentina in their final game in Group D.
Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho has revealed that the Super Eagles, who were the youngest squad in Russia, have gained experience which will come in handy in Qatar 2022.
Nigeria were favourites to reach the last sixteen only for the Gernot Rohr-led side to concede in the 86th minute when Marcos Rojo volleyed home the winner from Gabriel Mercado's cross.
''I think it was a good experience at the World Cup. We didn’t get the chance to go through but I think it was a good experience for us as a young team,'' Iheanacho told LCFC TV.
''I’m looking forward to the next World Cup. We’re back and ready now.''
