Manchester United, Everton, Southampton Watch Super Eagles Star Balogun Against Birmingham
Published: July 29, 2018Representatives from Premier League and EFL clubs were among the spectators that witnessed the pre-season friendly between Brighton & Hove and Birmingham City on Saturday, with two Nigerians getting some minutes.
Whilst Super Eagles World Cup star Leon Balogun came off the bench in the 76th minute, ex-Dream Team VI invitee Viv Solomon-Otabor played the whole of the second half.
The well informed Scouts In Attendance has tweeted that Manchester United, Everton, Southampton, Aston Villa, Middlesbrough and Southend United sent their scouts to the St. Andrew's Stadium to run the rule over the players on both teams.
Solomon-Otabor showed glimpses of his potential and looked lively when he came on while Balogun made sure the Seagulls' did not concede again as they were trailing by one goal when he entered into the fray.
Manchester United travel to Brighton in their second match of the new season and it is suggested that Jose Mourinho's side were scouting the opposition ahead of that fixture and same applies to Boro, who are hosting Birmingham at the Riverside Stadium on August 11.
Leon Balogun racked up 75 appearances in Germany's topflight before transferring to Brighton in the off-season.
