Official: Nigerian Striker Fanendo Adi Departs MLS Club Portland Timbers
Nigerian striker Fanendo Adi will move on to pastures new in the summer transfer window.

Major League Soccer club Portland Timbers write on their official website that Saturday's game against Houston Dynamo (2-1) at Providence Park was Adi’s final game as a Timbers player.

In his final appearance for the Timbers, the former Super Eagles invitee came off the bench in the 75th minute before netting the game-winning goal five minutes later.

The 27-year-old scored 53 goals in 125 MLS regular season appearances and helped Portland Timbers to win the 2015 MLS Cup.

''I came (to the Timbers) as a young boy, but now I’m a man. There comes a time in life where, sometimes, you move on, but the Portland Timbers will always be a family, to me,'' Fanendo Adi said.

''I’m just grateful for everything I got from the organization.''

Previously, Adi turned out for Trenčín, Metalurh Donetsk, Dynamo Kyiv, Tavriya Simferopol and FC Copenhagen.
