Fikayo Tomori Receives Praise From Chelsea Legend After Derby Debut
Published: August 12, 2018Derby County manager Frank Lampard thinks Nigerian defender Fikayo Tomori performed well despite his team's 4-1 loss to Leeds United on match day two in the EFL Championship on Saturday, August 11.
Tomori was signed by The Rams on a season-long loan from Chelsea six days ago and was handed a full debut by the former England star despite the fact there were question marks over his fitness.
Lampard had no choice but to field Tomori after skipper Curtis Davies suffered a muscle injury in training in the days leading up to the clash at Pride Park Stadium.
Speaking to reporters post-match, Lampard stated : ''I thought he (Tomori) did well.''
"It was a difficult game for him to come into. He had very little game-time under his belt pre-season at Chelsea, so I thought he did well."

The 20-year-old Tomori has now totaled 35 appearances in the Championship for Brighton, Hull City and Derby County.
