Chelsea Striker Of Nigerian Descent Drawing Interest From Sampdoria
Published: August 15, 2018English-born Nigerian striker Tammy Abraham is being linked with a summer transfer to Italian Serie A outfit Sampdoria.
Calciomercato,
making reference to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia, claims Sampdoria
have joined the long list of suitors who want a piece of Tammy Abraham.
The
Blucerchiati are in the market for a striker to ease the goal-scoring
burden on the veteran 35-year-old Fabio Quagliarella, who netted 19
goals in the Italian topflight last season.
Abraham
had attracted interest from multiple Premier League teams before the
close of the transfer window in England last week and Aston Villa are
among his suitors in the EFL Championship.
Chelsea
have done transfer business with Italian clubs in this window, with Ola
Aina, Tiémoué Bakayoko and Mario Pašalić joining Torino, AC Milan and
Atalanta on loan respectively.
Abraham,
who has made three appearances in total for Chelsea's first team, was
omitted from the squad that faced Huddersfield in the Premier League
last weekend.
The England U21 star was previously loaned out to Swansea City and Bristol City by Chelsea.
