Everton Loanee Henry May Get A Rival From Arsenal As Galatasaray Chase Moses' Ex-Strike Partner
Published: August 18, 2018Everton loanee Henry Onyekuru may get a rival from Arsenal before the close of the summer window, with reports suggesting that Galatasaray are interested in the acquisition of England star Danny Welbeck.
Turkish outlet AMK claims Galatasaray are plotting a move for the England forward after being informed through intermediaries that the Gunners are prepared to part ways with the forward.
According to the source, the Turkish team is ready to sell Bafetimbi Gomis to a Qatari or Saudi Arabian team, and Welbeck is seen as a quality replacement.
If Welbeck's transfer to Galatasaray materializes, he will compete with Henry Onyekuru for one of the striking positions and the two players can also be deployed as wingers.
The Super Eagle was an unused substitute in Galatasaray's first competitive match of the new season, a Super Cup tie against Akhisarspor, before he was a handed a starting berth in the league opener with Ankaragücü last Friday.
Welbeck was Victor Moses's strike partner during their days with the England U17 and U19 national teams.
