Chelsea 3 Arsenal 2: Iwobi Opens His 2018-2019 Account; Moses Non-Playing Sub
Published: August 18, 2018Chelsea emerged 3-2 winners against Arsenal in the second round of the Premier League fixtures held at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.
Victor Moses started on the bench for the hosts, while Alex Iwobi made a goalscoring 99th appearance for the Gunners in the very thrilling clash. Young Blues striker, Tammy Abraham was not listed for the derby.
The 22-year-old finished off a lovely team move four minutes before the break, combining superbly down the right side with Hector Bellerin and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to beat Kepa Arizbalanga in the Chelsea goal.
Goals from Pedro Ledesma and Alvaro Morata earlier had Chelsea sailing through but Mkhitaryan halved the deficit minutes before Iwobi pulled his team level with his brilliant strike.
Unai Emery's side will however, rue a late winner from Marcos Alonso after Alexandre Lacazette sloppily gave the ball away and Eden Hazard took advantage to cut in a ball into the middle for the Spaniard to tuck home.
The impressive Iwobi made way for Lacazette fifteen minutes from time while Moses watched proceedings entirely from the bench.
