How Victor Moses Prevented England Star From Making Chelsea Match Day Squad Vs Arsenal
Published: August 24, 2018Former Nigeria international Victor Moses might be blocking the chances of England star Ruben Loftus-Cheek featuring for Chelsea in the first half of this season, manager Maurizio Sarri insinuated at Friday's press conference.
Winger Moses has been included in The Blues 18-man match day squad for Chelsea's first two games in the Premier League, against Huddersfield Town and Arsenal, while midfielder Loftus-Cheek was only considered to be on the bench against the Terriers.
Sarri has lifted the lid on why Loftus-Cheek was not in the squad that faced the Gunners last Saturday, saying he chose to name two wingers (Victor Moses and Eden Hazard) on the bench.
''I chose to put on the bench two wingers. I’ve spoken with him twice after I spoke with the club,'' Sarri told reporters.
''I think he will remain with us. We can speak again with his situation but only in December.''
Victor Moses is behind Hazard, Willian and Pedro in the pecking order of wingers at Chelsea, based on Sarri's starting lineup in the last three domestic fixtures.
