Latest Update On RB Leipzig Target Who May Enter Into The Nigerian History Books
Published: August 30, 2018Speaking after Everton's 3-1 win over Semi Ajayi's Rotherham United in the second round of the League Cup, manager Marco Silva has provided an update on the future of Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman.
The England U21 star was not available for selection against the Millers and the official word from the Toffees was that the winger was suffering from a groin injury.
Lookman is being linked with a permanent switch to RB Leipzig, where he spent the second half of last season on loan, with a transfer fee of 28 million pounds being mooted, which will make him the costliest Nigerian player in history if the transfer materializes.
''It is a small problem with his groin. We will see if he can start to work with the team tomorrow,'' Silva told reporters post-match.
Asked whether the continued speculation was a distraction he added: ''It is not easy to lose my focus with this type of thing.
''I understand football, I understand the market and I understand everything what has happened but since the market has closed for us here, our focus is to to see what the best solution is for us as a club to work with our players to prepare them in the best way to play.''

Ademola Lookman is one of the English-born kids being monitored by the Nigeria Football Federation, with a view to an invitation to the Super Eagles.
