Official : Aston Villa Win Race For Chelsea Striker Abraham
Published: August 31, 2018Through their official website, Chelsea have confirmed that Nigerian striker Tammy Abraham will be spending the remainder of the season at Championship club Aston Villa.
The 20-year-old Abraham is the fifth Nigerian player to be loaned out by the Blues and their thirty-eighth loanee this summer, following Kenneth Omeruo, Ola Aina, Ike Ugbo and Fikayo Tomori.
Aston Villa are the third club the attacker has been loaned out to continue his development after previous stints at Bristol City, for whom he scored 26 goals during the 2016-2017 season, and Swansea City.
The England U21 international, who is the seventh player to be signed by Villa this summer, has spoken of his delight at joining his new employer.
Speaking to the official website, Abraham stated : ''I’m excited for this new chapter. Aston Villa are a big club that belongs in the Premier League and I’m here to help them achieve that.
''At this stage of my career, I need games and this is a great place for me to come and showcase my talent. I can’t wait to get started."

Aston Villa occupy the fourth position in the Championship standings after five rounds and travel to Sheffield United in their next league game on Saturday, September 1.
