Liverpool edged Leicester City 2-1 in their lunch time Premier League encounter at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

While Super Eagles star, Wilfred Ndidi made his fourth consecutive league start for the Foxes, his compatriot Kelechi Iheanacho was introduced off the bench for Marc Albrighton after 61 minutes.

Former Chelsea striker of Nigerian descent Dominic Solanke was not listed for the Merseyside Reds for the game.

Senegalese attacker, Sadio Mane put the visitors in front barely ten minutes in when he was set up by Andrew Robertson to plant a fine finish past Kasper Schmeichel in the opposition goal before Roberto Firmino headed into the bottom right corner from a James Milner's corner for 2-0 on the stroke of half time.

Leicester City pulled a goal back through Rachid Ghezzal in the 63rd minute following a blunder from their opposing goalkeeper, Alisson Becker.

Two minutes after Iheanacho entered into the fray, he won the ball off the former most expensive goalkeeper in the world before squaring it to his Algerian teammate.

Jurgen Klopp's side held out for the victory to maintain their hundred percent record in the division this season.

Ndidi who went the full distance in the game was booked in the closing stages following a tangle with Naby Keita.
