Enyimba Say No Truth In Reports NPFL All-Time Top Scorer Mfon Udoh Has Quit The Club
Published: September 14, 2018Nigerian Professional Football League powerhouse, Enyimba, say there is no truth in reports in the local media on Friday in which it was claimed that Super Eagles striker Mfon Udoh has quit the club.
Ahead of their trip to Rwanda for Sunday’s CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinal first leg tie against Rayon Sports, the two-time African champions have hinted that Udoh will not be available for selection as he was suspended a week ago for gross misconduct and indiscipline.
Enyimba tweeted : ''Our attention has been drawn to news making the rounds that Mfon Udoh has quit our club. There is no truth to this as the player was suspended last week for misconduct and indiscipline.
''He was suspended along with other players but details were not released to the public.''
In the suspension letter sighted by allnigeriasoccer.com, Enyimba noted that Mfon Udoh's actions were breaches of his expected and entrusted role as ambassador and captain of the club and will not receive any pay until further notice.
The 26-year-old is the all-time top scorer in a single season in the NPFL which he set in 2014.
