Charlton Midfielder Dubbed The New Moussa Dembele Wanted By Tottenham, Southampton, Eintracht Frankfurt
Published: December 13, 2018Charlton Athletic midfielder Joe Aribo is attracting interest from big European clubs ahead of the opening of the January transfer window.
According to the Independent, Premier League clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton plus Derby County in the Championship are vying for the signature of the 22-year-old Nigerian.
Aribo was offered a new long-term contract in the summer only for the Addicks to withdraw the offer and offer him half of the wages he was supposed to earn in the previous contract.
German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt and Portuguese side Benfica have been installed as early favorites to sign the central midfielder if he refuses to sign the new improved deal he was recently offered.
It has not escaped the notice of Aribo that Ademola Lookman developed and was offered game time when he moved to the Bundesliga on loan in January 2018 and he is willing to follow in his footsteps.
Aribo, who has tallied 5 goals in his last 11 games in League One, has cited Spurs' Moussa Dembélé as his role model.
He told allnigeriasoccer.com : ''My strengths are I am able to move around the pitch with energy and passing, my weaknesses are my weaker foot and heading.
''I model my game after Tottenham Hotspur’s Moussa Dembélé because he is a left-footed midfielder like me.''

His contract expires at the end of the season and he can negotiate freely with foreign clubs as from January 2019.
