Official: Norway Legend Adored By Nigerian Strikers Appointed Caretaker Coach Of Man Utd
Published: December 19, 2018Nigerian strikers Daniel Chima and Leke James have lost their coach at Norwegian club Molde, with Manchester United confirming via their official website on Tuesday that Ole Gunnar Solskjær has been appointed as caretaker manager until the end of the 2018/19 season.
Ole Gunnar will start work at United with immediate effect and Erling Moe will be the head coach at Molde FK until May 2019.
Manchester United terminated the contract of Jose Mourinho on Tuesday following their 3-1 loss to Liverpool in the Premier League, a result which left
them 19 points behind Jurgen Klopp's side.
Apart from the fact that he still has a valid contract with Molde until 2021 having recently signed a new deal, Solskjær is expected to return to Norway next summer as United will appoint a new full-time manager for next season.
In 2018, the Manchester United legend recommended the signings of Daniel Chima and Leke James and the two strikers helped Molde finish second in the standings at the end of the season.
In a past interview with allnigeriasoccer.com, Chima said : ''We have a great coach (Solskjær ,ed) with good football experience and every player
adores him. ''
Solskjær will be joined by Mike Phelan as first-team coach at Manchester United and they will work alongside Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna.
