Iwobi's Arsenal Place Threatened As Emery Makes Move For Belgium World Cup Star
Published: January 10, 2019Arsenal and Nigeria winger Alex Iwobi could have his playing time for his club drastically affected if the North London side sign Belgian international Yannick Carrasco.
Foot Mercato on Wednesday reported that Arsenal head coach Unai Emery has sanctioned the acquisition of the winger who plays for Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang.
The news outlet informed that the Gunners boss will make an offer for the forward who represented his country at last year's FIFA World Cup in the coming days.
Carrasco, who is coached at the Chinese club by former AS Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim, has reportedly agreed to take a pay cut in order to force a move to London despite the reluctance of his coach to letting him have his way.
Carrasco scored 7 goals (9 assists) in 25 Chinese Super League matches in 2018 while Iwobi has 3 goals in 26 appearances across all competitions this season
Carrasco was bought for £27m from Spanish La Liga giants Atlético Madrid and is said to be on an annual salary of £8.8m.
