Chelsea-Owned Defender Omeruo Drawing Transfer Interest From German, Spanish Clubs
Chelsea-owned defender Kenneth Omeruo is being linked with a permanent departure from the Stamford Bridge outfit in the summer transfer window.

According to The Sun UK, the Nigeria international is attracting interest from unnamed German and Spanish clubs thanks to his brilliant displays for Leganes, whom he joined on a season-long loan last summer.

If Chelsea decide to sell Omeruo outright, it is believed that Leganes have the right of first refusal on his services as they inserted a purchase clause into his contract signed in August 2018.

The central defender helped goalkeeper Ivan Cuellar to post a shutout in a 1-0 win against Real Madrid last month and has impressed in league matches against the big teams such as Barcelona, Valencia, Atlético Madrid and Sevilla.

Leganes is the fifth club Omeruo has been loaned out to since his arrival at Chelsea in January 2012 after previous stints at ADO Den Haag, Middlesbrough, Kasımpaşa and Alanyaspor.

The 25-year-old has started and gone the distance in the last 13 games played by Leganes in the Spanish top division.
