Where's Ighalo And Omeruo On Africa Cup Of Nations Scoring Chart?
Published: June 28, 2019
AFCON 2019 is seven days old and 39 goals have been scored from 18 matches as at the time of this report.
This means that an average of 2.17 goals were scored in each of the games that have been played since the start of the competition.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria haven't been impressive in the final half of the pitch despite the large pool of in-form attackers in the team.
They have only managed to score two goals out of the 39 goals scored, though, they are through to the next round of the competition.
Odion Ighalo scored the first goal in their opening match against Burundi to give Nigeria the maximum points.
Kenneth Omeruo headed home the country's second goal of the tournament which came against Guinea on Wednesday.
How are the two players faring in the tournament's goalscorer's board? Here is a quick answer to the question.
Only three players have scored two goals after two rounds of matches, they are:
Mickaël Poté (Benin Republic)
Michael Olunga(Kenya)
Emmanuel Okwi(Uganda)
Meanwhile, Ighalo and Omeruo are among the 33 players who have just one goal to their name.
Gernot Rohr's men are expected to score many goals against Madagascar on Sunday, considering their attacking prowess and the quality of their next opponent (no disrespect to Madagascar).
