Arsenal's Nigerian Winger Linked With Transfer To Hamburg

Nigeria-eligible winger Xavier Amaechi is heavily linked with a summer move to German club Hamburg.

German newspaper Bild claims that Arsenal have accepted a 2.5 million euros bid for the England youth international.

Speculation is rife regarding the future of Amaechi at Arsenal after he was left out of the first team's tour squad to the United States and did not feature for the U23s in their friendly vs Barnet this week.

Capable of playing on either wing, he penned his first professional contract with Arsenal in January 2018 and still has a contract with the North London club until 2020.

He could be the latest youngster of Nigerian descent to move to a German club after RB Leipzig's capture of Ademola Lookman and ex-Tottenham wonderkid Keanan Bennetts who joined Borussia Mönchengladbach last summer.

Amaechi joined Arsenal from Fulham Academy in August 2013.
